Oh my God. This was a rollercoaster of emotions. I instantly fell in love with Alex. He's a hard working, loving, caring and funny character. He's a bit too stuck in his head sometimes and he has problems with going all in on something, even when he probably shouldn't. They way he's portrayed is believable - the humor, the love, the issues. He's the son of the president and he handles it really well. Until, you know, a certain prince comes along. This isn't really a hate-to-love story. It's more like a one-sided-hate-to-friendship-to-doing-it kind of story and I can't tell you more, because it'll spoil everything.

Okay, what can you say then? I can say that this book is full of great characters. Everyone has their wonderful personality - the sisters, the best friends, the bodyguards, the parents and everyone who's on page brings their own thing to the story. This is an accomplishment - to not have characters who are superfluous to the story. I can also say that even though this story was told solely from Alex's point of view, Henry's personality shone through more than enough. Oh, sweet Henry. I just wanted to hug him and tell him he's so awesome.

Why should you read this book? Um, because you're a living, breathing human being? No, but seriously. If you want to read a book with a great set of characters, a story about two people growing, loving, being and finding themselves, shock full of humor and also love letters and want your heart to melt into a mushy puddle - read this. I can't say much more, because I don't want to ruin the story.

(Oh, and this comes out May 14th. Sorry..) Also, look at that cover - I love it!

Denna tjocka bok med Stefan och Lukas som huvudkaraktärer hade mig uppe sent på kvällarna för att jag inte ville sluta läsa. Lukas är definitivt min favoritkaraktär och Stefan passar bra ihop med honom. Något jag gillade i denna bok var dilemmat som Lukas stod inför. Att hålla saker och ting hemliga för de man bor med och som har räddat ens liv (i stort sett, eftersom de gav honom någonstans att bo) kan bli fel och kännas jäkligt onödigt när man läser det. Tycker jag i alla fall. Men denna gång är det verkligen Lukas osäkerhet i uppväxten och hans bror som gör det hela trovärdigt. Han är ändå en ärlig, omtänksam själ som tänker på andras välmående före sitt eget (även om han är fast i sitt huvud en hel del). R...

Vilket ju är toppen, för jag vill läsa mer av svenska författare. Och här är jag nu, med min tredje utlästa bok (eller ja, andra utlästa, då den tredje var en novell, men detaljer) och jag är så positivt överraskad. Brännmärkt fångade mitt intresse redan när den kom ut, men då var jag trött på dystopier och läste väldigt lite svensk litteratur. På beskrivningen lät den som en intrigfylld YA-dystopi, helt enkelt. Och det är vad den är. Jag tycker att boken kan mäta sig med de amerikanska YA-dystopierna som kräktes ut för några år sedan. Demons, camp war and some love by Axelle Lenoir

A bunch! The illustrations: Perfect for the story. I loved how the Camp Chief was portrayed as well and Elodie's little red-headed devils. The funny was funny, the scary was scary, the romantic was romantic. The characters: Loved seeing Elodie come out of her shell and getting to know Catherine and seeing their friendship bloom even though E is a bit reluctant. The rest of the counselors show off their personalities well even though they don't have that much on page time. The red-headed devils are hilarious and sweet and scary all at once and they should have had more page time. The story : Intriguing.
